nice complex, fished it back when i used to live down that way and had a few out of the "proper" lake (mallard?)

i once had the owner come steaming up to me, asking how i dare fish it again, get off or i'm calling the police, getting in a right tizz....... then he suddenly went "oh, you're not who i thought you were. sorry." and walked off  turned out someone gave my name when he chucked them off

turns out it happened quite a lot as you had to sign in and out.....

there is/was a question mark about the fish's origins, if you listen to the rumours - but then the same could be said for a lot of the waters which were stocked in the early 90's

there was some cracking commons in there

fished it once the owner treated me as if it was my first days fishing,as he blasted rules at me in the shop, saying you wont get a 2nd chance with any rule,i thought wont need one, not comming back tosser, and didnt.

And special swims with ramps and comodes :thumb: :thumb:

I fished it on a charity weekend two years ago and was impressed with their main lake. Nice looking water.

i am thinking of joining wintons this year, seems a bit expensive at first glance though. as i live minutes away it would be rude not to really.
is it a hard place? intermediate? my syndicate water has become far to easy over the last couple of years.you know your gonna catch regardless of how hard you try to change things a bit. which to me takes something out of going tbh. as its just a case of how many not if any. last year saw 200lb bags common place and i found myself thinking of ways not to catch them just to slow it down a bit.resulting in some wierd and wonderfull hook baits being used.

and since my disability (or spasticisation as joss puts it) i cannot be hauling carp in one after the other so a nice sit in brolly or bivvy with some fish in between would be nice.

anyone know wintons well enough to comment?i would appreciate your view's on the place.....

The is a charity 48 hr Carp and Catfish match being held at wintons fishery on the weekend of 25th - 27th april 08..

Usually have to be member to fish this but due to charity match this is not required as a one off....

The Common record has just been broken down there recently and that stands at 46.12lb they also have mirrors to 45lb, Catfish go to 61lb, there are 4 spaces going for this, its 100.00 to fish and includes your breakfast..

Flatliner fished this a few years ago with me and im sure he will confirm what a lovely fishery this is?

anyone interested then pm me for more details..

www.captiveangler.co.uk for full comp details its called the DT Challenge

Thanks People
