Wintons France

fished it last january, nice lake of about 10 acres, island in middle, swims are comfortable loads of water to yourself...

About 2 hours from Le Harve, My brother baliffed this for 3 years, food was excellent, showers and lodge which was good especially as we fished it with ice and minus 1 conditions, managed to winkle out 3 fish to 31lb..

I know Max Cottis and Andy Little have done features on this place and done really well on this water , my brother had his pb of 55lb out of here.. Loads of 50's and i think there are 3 different 50s in the lake..

All in all a nice venue never fished the summer due to other committments but is deffiantely one that iwill consider for the future,

Mar Peche, Rainbow Lake, Castle Lakes, Moorelands and Blavet Valley are on my hit list for the future.. I would also like to have a go on Cassien but that wont happen until my boy is older due to wanting to do more then a week on there

But due to me not driving it makes it hard for me choosing my venues ..

The lake was owned by the guy that has the tackel shop in Kessel, they was a house boat on the lake and he lived there in the summer,
One of the Beligum lads I met while fishing the cannels out there introduced us to him.
I know Ashby fished it the year before we did.

While we were fishing some of the members came down with there photos of the fish they had caught, we both had fish to 45lbs, some really good FS mirrors at the time.

Het flot, is a nice water (bit on the small side though)
but it holds some very nice fish, some of the big fish have died over the years now
and the owner (old guy) who used to live in the boat house is dead aswell.
you where very lucky to have fished this lake, because as a belgian its not easy to get a ticked!!
but than again, I would not fish there anyway (to small and to busy at times)

Mirror pool, without dout.

The fish,
The lake
The surrondings, if you hav'nt been get on there you will love the place.

Back in the 80s I fished a lake in beligum called the Flot,
some really good fish in this lake, but its a private club water so hard to get on there.

never done that many tend to stick to places. Utopia isn't really a drive and survive yes you drive but they cook for you, I like it as its queit, and friendly only 2:30 hours drive generally go with a mate so we can normally get two swims together, it is very clean very tidy and very well run, orh and free walnuts off the trees. Fishing wise I have always done oK other struggle and yes I can fish my beloved particle. and not a lot of people

Now do fancy a drive down to Valdore as it is also close heard mixed reports about there though booking the swim in advance is probably a good idea at least you can wait for a date that suits

Vallee lake was my first trip to France so had nothing to compare it to ........The owner was the most paranoid bloke I have ever met........ A bit to inexperienced to run a fishery imo... Caught my first thirty so wernt all bad ....... This lake would be great in the right hands

Abbey lakes .......... Very barren like a hole in the ground and no room to move anywhere .......... people casting over each other .......and slanging matches on the bank .....not my cup of tea :thumbsup_anim:

Valdore ........ I really enjoyed it, I was on my own I only did 4 nights first cast a 62lb cat ... I was a bit shocked to catch one ..... A good looking lake ,big fish the owner was ok .......Again though swim boundries a nightmare boats everywhere...........

Domain des iles back lake......... again just a short session 3 nights .... 15 fish nothing big though ...biggest was 25lb i think...... I went with a couple of mates they struggled..... again not a bad place but I dunno I wouldnt go back there ..........

These are the only drive and survives I have been on.......
Other trips were all inclusives.....
