From what I remember in 2001 you have a chat with the anglers in Sexy's and 1st Hanger and agree your boundaries, stick a marker float if necessary.
Then stick 3 rods out at 10 o'clock, 12 o'clock and 2 o'clock all at slightly different distances but all within catapult range, to make it easy line them up with 3 trees on the opposite bank then clip up, then when night comes you can hit the same spots.

Bait up each rod and then fill in the gaps between the rods so you've got a sort of a line and your sorted.

Well that's how I rseem to remember it but it was over 6 years ago!

Hi Guys,

Took 40kg of poachers in varying sizes 20kg of 14's, 10kg of 16's, 10kg of 18's and used about 35kg. Baited at dawn and dusk not massive amounts and on recasts pulted a coulpe of pouches per rod just enough to keep em interested.

Next time probably take a lesser amount of the 18's and more of 14's and 16's more baits for ya money, there is a slight issue with baiting at distance but that can be overcome, a decent catty and or spod ;)

Cheers for the info.

Did the swims either side of you produce or where they empty for the majority of the week ?

Out to complex July 21 - 28 and to be fair, donrt fancy the prospect of sitting it out on the long getting burnt to a sinder in those 40 degree temps :smartass:

Comment from smokeeater:

Chucked a lead out and had a feel and found a gravel patch at about 40 yds cast out stringers all was quiet to start, got all me baits on the gravel then decided to catch up on a bit of shut eye, then 5am came and it kicked of big stylie!!!!. Constant action for most of the week, just put me baits on the money and kept a steady flow of freebies going in result

Total of 41 fish, 5 40's to 43.12 new PB, 8 30's, 14 20's, 14 doubles plus 1 cat.

Already sorted trip for next year, can't wait

Tight lines to all.

Here are the comments from the old website.

3. Middle Hanger

Comment: There is a hole that drops down from 8 to 12 feet over towards the point/bear and this is where I caught most of my fish from.

I was lazy and tried to bait this spot with a throwing stick and ended up baiting everywhere else instead. Should have walked round to the point and baited with a catapult - much easier.

Comment: Ask the guy in the Bear to do it for you. Too far to reach with a catty - trust me, I tried and ended up with sore knuckles and baiting up an area well short of where it needed to go. It’s not even that easy with a stick but then again I'm useless with it.
