Any time of day or night mate. The trick is to keep trickling in the bait every 2-3 hours with 20/40 baits over each rod. By doing that this week I've had 4 forties so far since Saturday.

At last they seem to have settled down after spawning.

I noticed the weights posted as current records below so would just put accurate figures for you;
Mirror 56.07 lb but I think that this fish has reached its top weight so may not make sixty.
Common 44.10 lb and a very young fish. We also have 3 other commons between 44.00 & 44.10.
Catfish 143.00 lb but we removed this particular fish because it began to take fins off of carp and the current biggest is 110.00 lb.
This season has produced 3 different carp of 48.10 lb, 49.08 lb and 50.04 and all three of these are ten years old and growing fast. Within their "siblings" there are also another 15 carp over 45.00 lb. Hopefully all of these will top 50.00 lb next year and we will then have exceeded our target of ten fifties for 2010.
Hope that helps persuade you all to come and sample our hospitallity. Home cooked food and our own pub.
