I fished in Belguim in the 80s for years and had no problem with any of the Belguim or Dutch anglers I meet, in fact the lads we fished with were great guys.

One lake we fished at Geel the lads we were fishing with had there wifes bring dinner to the lakes for us :thumbsup_anim:

here in Vlanderen its ok, but you know why anglers do not like the english!!
but I do not have a problem, because the Uk anglers I have fished with over here where spot on!!

As you all will know Im from belgium (and fish in Belgium)

But what do you know about the fishing in belgium??
ever been to fish in Belgium and where have you been fishing??

Right here we go, Belgium is 3 part land the flamish/vlaanderen (where I live) and here we speak dutch (or like we like to call it flamish) than you have the frence/wallonie side, where they speak french.
and than there is German part aswell (only a small part in the east of belgium)

the 2 main parts are the Flamish and frence part
no you have to know that, there are (in this matter) 2 diffrent parlements
why act on the behalf of there part of the countrey.
so as you know the fishing law is diffrent aswell.

now we are getting there, in the flamish part lets call it vlaanderen
you can nightfish on all canals (with a public licence, you get at the post office) and its around €50 for a years!
than there are the prived lakes/club waters, syndicats, where its not easy to get in (politics you know)
and than you have the public waters, where you can fish with a public water licence from again the post office.
but on these waters you are not allowed to night fish!! NO NIGHTFISHING!!

no on the frence part, wallonie.
there as been a new law in place sinds last year (June)
that there is nightfishing on all public water, canals, lakes and river!!
prived/club and syndicats are diffrent (they make there own rules)

but no be awear of this!!
when night fishing in wallonie (2 rod limit) dont use more because, the garde pech is watching!! no sacking of fish, dont do it because again de garde pech is watching!!
if you are controled by them and they find you are fishing with more rods or have carp in a sack, be WARNED they dont laugh wiht this!!

for the rest its all very nice fishing in belgium, respect the law and you will be fine
and respect the local anglers
