I fished to the left of the swim the oppisite Clock tower being a natural aiming point.Did not see a fish in our patch of water all week but could see them in the corner swim oppisite us.
Lodge is great for cooking and kicking back but I still used a bivvy.
Each day saw less peps on the lake and no action for us,I was using CC Moore live system and Conrad Metor but it was not happening.Marsh came on the Tuesday and confirmed we had found the spots but got us to change bait to Cavier and Cranberry by
Carp Company, next morning 0800 single bleep on middle rod and bobbin stayed up hit it a lovley 16lb chocolate brown Mirror
best looking fish I have caught.Smoking...
Conrad went stalking found fish but they would not play ball,I did what i do best(f*** all)and at 0100 on the Thursday night had a 29lb 8oz ugly mirror just missed the 30 and getting Marsh out of bed...
Marsh was delighted for us he is a good bloke.
So a good trip good craic and I would go back when water levels up,but its 700 miles return and a 3 hour ferry so we will see...
Blimey water must have been low mate, never heard or seen it that low. It's a lovely lake though and well run, it's all ice red from the carp company. Were the snags exposed down the left hand margin with the water so low ?

I've fished it half a dozen times its always best to keep your eye on the catch reports but the fish come from all over. I always went in the week as by Thurs pm its rammed. Middles and new middles were the going swims a while back and its bait boat central. The map shows the bars etc and nearly all the swims from the L shape around to middles could access them.
The Alamo is a huge double swim with a summer house on it, reed line down the right hand side. The white sticks poking out indicate snags and you can see them move when the fish are in there. The silt channel runs along the far left hand side of the swim but i'm not sure if this can be reached (there an old dead tree as a boundary). A lot of fish come from the middle as I think the pressure pushes them out so a long range single hookbait wouldn't go a miss if its packed :thumbsup_anim:
I few mates have had success on PVA bags and Zigs from the alamo. Try to avoid big beds of pallet or hemp the bream and tench love it.
There is usually a bait trend there a few years back it was all icelandic red. Nice showers and a well run venue, a couple of local takeaways deliver to the carpark or gates when out of hours.
If its quiet it might pay you to fish a few days or hrs in some of the other swims if they let you.
The catch reports usually indicates where their at, if it's updated which helps.
Swans can be coooornts at times :thumbsup_anim:

Had my pb from there and seen some stunners
Pricey though as its per 24hr.
The regulars know there stuff and seem to do the biz. Take a look at the web site and look at the swim all alone, one of if not the best looking swim youre ever set your eyes on

it took tim paisley a few weeks (or was it months?) to get his head around it before he caught anything, don't think its as "easy" as it once was.....

As you look towards the water there is a long reedy bank to your right, anywhere along that bank used to be good, unless they've drastically altered the lake I'd imagine it's still a good spot.
Caught my first 20 at Orchid :suicide_anim:
