Yeah it could do with some cover round there, hot is a understatement :thumbsup_anim: I'm rubbish in hot weather and at 26 in the shade all week it was to much for me.
I tried to sit under the tree's but they were dripping sap all week and i was to far away from the rods.
When i went round to the margins to bait up mozzies were on me in a flash.
Forgot to mention the fish i took up from the left hand margin was off a little hump that one of Darryl's mates told me he had a fifty from before.

Better still Drew, good fishing mate you worked for them! one thing you did forget about the swim though it is HOT very Hot no shade to be found, all I could see all day was this bronzed body in skimmpy shorts :thumbsup_anim: running around the swim.

the main differnce I think between NTG and MOL is you can get into the margin and FEED, without the rush line swim on NTG you basically end up with open water fishing which just didn't produce, nothing under the bushes that could be seen in that margin from NTG, think the fish just didn't come down our end probably because enough bait was going into the Shed for the fish not to move down, still good social week.

Fished it April 07 after drawing 12,first off don't know anybody would not want to fish this swim apart from it being anti social but no more than the bear
I loved it and it is the sort of swim i would head for here at home, now it has been made more comfortable and not a mud hole it is perfect.

Obviously the margins are the place you zone into and first off i had a snoop about around there to see what was hiding, found a few fish in the shade of the tree's hiding from the burning sun.
Right hand rod went bang in the corner which you can just make out in the picture above as a dark area just above the bivvy. This involved balancing on edge of swim and casting along tree line with only a yard or so for error or it was in with the birds.
Middle rod went sailing over to the reeds.
Left rod went into open water on the back of a bar about sixty yards.
The margin rods were fished fairly locked up as i wasn't sure how things would go or how bad snags and things would be around the spots.
Mid afternoon the corner rod was away and a double mirror was landed.
Saturday night and Sunday morning were fishless which did surprise me but didn't bother me as a good kip was needed.
Sunday early evening after dinner the corner rod was away again and whilst playing the fish near the net the middle rod near the reeds was away.
The fish on the reed rod swam towards the corner and i tried to take the slack line up whilst trying to land the other fish but was struggling, witht the fish finaly in the net i picked up the reed rod to find it well and truly snagged in the big willow to the right of the reeds.
Rob came round and he held the rod whilst i went round to the tree to see what i could do,it was on for a fair while but eventually came off and i got back all end tackle.
The netted fish was sorted and went 35 02.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v425/stumbles/108_0838.jpg

Not long after all had settled and all rods were out the reeds rod was away again and a 27 13 mirror was landed.
Sunday night was fishless again but first thing monday morning the reeds rod was away and a small mirror landed which i think didn't even make a double, not long after casting back out it was away again with a double common.
I had seen and heard fish in the left hand margin a bit since we i had been there and the open water rod was doing nothing so straight after braeky the left hand rod was flicked up the margin and was away fairly quickly with another double mirror.
Mid afternoon monday the reed rod was away with a 26 04 mirror.
Whenever i went to breaky or dinner i checked out the margins i was fishing and for the first time on monday on the way to and back from dinner i found it fishless.
This led to monday evening and first thing tuesday morning being fishless,a pattern had been emerging to me and nearly all my runs were 7pm till dark or first light till breaky.
I had not had a single pick up in the night from the margin or from the open water rod which i was roaming about.
Because of this i decided to rest the swim tuesday and not cast a line in it until mid afternoon about four which is when i had picked up the 26 of the reeds the day before.
So i went stalking with stewy round the back of the Hog and had three doubles on 10mm tutti's balanced with fake maize, very crafty plus a 22 common from the Old.
Swim rested straight after dinner fish were back and i bagged a 26 10 mirror from the corner.
First thing Wed morning same rod and a 29 12 common.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v425/stumbles/108_0846.jpg

Wednesday went for a little stalk again but only managed one double mirror up the margin to my left, things seemed to be getting harder all round now and Wednesday night and thursday morning were fishless.
Two rods has produced all my fish except one and i had tried loads with the open water rod, moving it around fishing with bait without bait, bags and singles and zigs during the day to no avail.
Thursday was looking a bit better with some cloud cover finally and fish had drifted back into the margin again and i was feeling confident of a take, you could smell it in the air,it was more fishy for sure.
After dinner the corner rod was away and a upper double mirror netted.
Not long after the re-cast it was away again but with fading light i tried to bully it into the net to get it back out before dark and the hook pulled,it was only another double anyway.
Finally at about 11pm i had my first run in the dark and the reed rod was away, straight away i knew it was a good fish and it thumped it's way toward the margin to my right and went straight in a snag.
After putting the rod down for a while it came out but was in there again as soon as i picked the rod up.
Eventually it shed the hook and it was lost, was not happy as it was the biggest fish i had hooked all week.
Friday as it was the last day it was going to stay and fish the swim all day and first thing after breaky the corner rod was off and a 28 08 mirror netted, which after the the three i had lost the day before was well welcome.
After dinner in true Drew style the corner rod was away again and like always leaving it till the last minute a 48 12 hippo was landed.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v425/stumbles/108_0851.jpg

Tufty like the gent he is wound in and ran round and did the pictures for me(cheers paaaaaaaaaarsnip)
later that evening the corner rod was away again and a 21 05 mirror landed.
Last but least i had another take in the night from the reeds but again the fosh done me in the willow nearby.
All in all i loved my week in here as it the sort of fishing i like,i should of made more use of my open water rod but no matter what i tried i couldn't buy a bite on it.
Maybe i should of picked a spot and stuck to it rather than roam about,Jad opposite me was struggling with three in open water so what chance did i have with one.
Thirteen fish when it wasn't fishing very well i think wasn't a bad tally plus the five i lost, three due to snags but that's the way it goes in a swim like this.
All fish except one fell to TNM and Grange,i also had some Grange paste left over from last year, enough for five casts.
One i fecked up but the other four all produced fish, very crafty
