Well,
In total i had 15 fish ( 5 x 30lb+) up to 39lb 5, I think bryan had 8 fish (2 x 30lb +)
All of my fish fell victim to the sites bait topped with white corn and were caught off the big gravel bar about 70 yrds out to my Right.
I found switchin between double 18's with a pop-up to single pop-ups worked well,as for bryan i honestly think he was pub chucking for a week tryin every possible combination of baits he had.
Will post a few piccys etc when i find out hot to reduce the size (mb) of me pictures for upload
Cheers Nick

Perhaps if you get the time you can post on here what you and your dad had and where you had them from.

Cheers

Didn't use a baitboat.
Left hand rod was about 75 yards out on some gravel that Dylan pointed out. Right hand rod was to an island which wasn't far out.
Spodded loads of pellet that I bought at Crystal and both spots produced.
Didn't catch on the middle rod. I put it between the other two and tried to make a line but it never produced. After a while I tried to vary it but I never did catch on the middle rod.
In hindsight I'm not sure if the pellet was really necessary, the bailiffs caught well and didn't seem to need it. Also the pellet was very slow sinking so by the time it sank it coud've ended up away from where it was spodded.
No poissons to deal with, just a few bream so I didn't feel the need to bait up constantly to compensate.
I followed the bailiffs and started the day with 100 baits per rod and then topped up with 50 every fish/cast.

Tufty and Del picked me up about 9.30pm on the Friday and we met Wayne and his brother Mark at Tesco outside the Relyon carpark, we stocked up with a few provisions and made the short journey to Dover.
Got the 01:10 crossing to Calais and then it was about a 4hr drive to Crystal.
Don't remember too much about the journey, I definitely remember speaking fluent French when paying at the toll booths but the bits in between seem to be a bit vague, Del said I was asleep but I'm not having that, I'm sure I stayed away throughout the journey
We when we got to Crystal we met up with two other anglers Nick and his dad Brian, we also were introduced to Dylan who has been looking after and living full time at Crystal since October and our two bailiffs for the week Mel and Steve.
They took us on a tour around the lake and then we decided on swims, I choose swim6.
Between 7 anglers and 3 bailiffs 91 fish we caught, I caught 9 which were...............
Sunday 7.15am 31-4
Monday 8pm 23-0
Tuesday 2.45am 27-8, 5.45am 33-14
Wednesday 2.30am 32-8, 7.45am 28-12
Thursday 12.15 28-4, 1/45am 24-0
Saturday 2.15am 14-8
All fish were mirrors and all were fish caught between late evening through to early morning, no daytime fish.

Will post some pics later.

Weather
Poxy weather it rained constantly on/off up until the Wednesday, everything was damp and wouldn’t dry out, thankfully Thursday and Friday turned out to be fine.
Amenities
Two nice clean toilets and showers, fridge and bait freezers, charging points, wheelbarrows, and good quality unhooking mats.
Good food served up in the lodge that has Satellite TV that was handy for Manure v Arsenal.
Staff
We were well looked after by Mel, Steve and Dylan. They would always be asking if everything was ok and always asking for any good and bad points as their aim was to try and improve things. The only thing I could suggest was to offer pudding every night after dinner and perhaps to send you away with a baguette when leaving on the Saturday morning.
Fish
Out of all the fish that were caught only a couple were doubles, the vast majority were good twenties and thirties up to 39-14. With the size of the lake, the quality and stocking levels these fish can only get bigger, a lot bigger, Crystal has a great future.

A final thank you to Tufty who done all the driving. Top bloke. :thumbsup_anim:
