The weather here over the past few days has been great, although the nights have been cold we have had brilliant sunshine, today the thermometer in the sun reached 26 degrees.
It was wonderful to go down the lake and see the fish making an apprearance on the top, they were everywhere, looking really stunning.
Being fed twice a day with the automatic feeder has bought them on a treat.
Looking forward to another great season and to seeing all our regular and first time visitors.
all the best Berny and Gordon

Hope you all had a great Xmas and New Year.
The latest update from us all at Blavet is that between Christmas and New Year Gordon decided to go and wet a few lines. On Tuesday he caught 1 x 23.8 and 1 x 25.4. Went down for a few hours on Wednesday and about 7.30 p.m. he called me on the radio to come down with the camera as he had a big fish sacked up, I went down to find him playing another fish - he landed it and ended up with 2 x commons 1 x 53.9lbs and another 55.2lbs - in absolutely stunning condition, we knew they were in there but we supprised how big they had got, and who knows how big they will get before spawning. As you can imagine we are both extactic with these catches, no only are they our first commons over 50lbs but both are new p.b.s for Gordon as well. (caught from the Rails swim)
The fish are moving about well and the fish feeder (feeding the fish every 12 hours) helps no end.
With regards to everyone that has been emailing regarding how Gordon's recovery is going after the stroke he suffered in September, well he is making fantastic progress and we are nearly ready for the start of the new season. Thanks to you all for your best wishes.
All the very best - Berny, Gordon and Ross

most if not all lakes lose fish in the winter they seem most shoal up in the the silt but there`s always gonna be a few that don`t winter very well and die
the problem is they sit on the bottom all winter and seem to all pop up together when the water starts to warm up
i think the average is about 5 fish for every 8 acres
but you always get the people who see a dead fish and think that all the fish are dieing these are normaly the type of people who dont catch many fish during thier trips or any other that they go on and then write up that there`s been a big fish kill and thats why they didnt catch or there`s no fish in the lake ect
these types need to spend there monies on fishing lessons and not on trips to quality french waters i know my first ever trip to les quis the fish just wasnt feeding but i damm well knew they were there
so take no notice of crap like this on forums berny as your time is better spent getting gordon well than worrying about idle gossip
i do wonder what site and people this originated

Sorry for not replying sooner - Just had an email from Mark S and here is a part of the reply I sent to him .....
Thanks for bring to our attention our thread from the forum, I have not been on for a couple of weeks as I have not had time because Gordon suffered a stroke just over a week ago, he was semi paralised and his speach was affected but he is doing ok - I thought I was going to lose him, we are just glad that it happened in France and not in England as I am sure he would have died.
With regards to the forum I just wish that if anyone hears rumours that they would contact us direct as this is news to us and with regards to a fish kill last year (2008) there were 5 dead wildy commons during the first week of the season that had been dead a while.
People are dealing with our lively hood and can honestly say that this is a load of lies and I wish I knew where the rumours stemed from.
Thanks again Mark.
All the best Berny and Gordon
