ive got about 20 packs of them......size 8 is my fav...not found a bad un as yet mate. i still use the arma points alots, but i find the heavier gauge for abroad fishing in the Sabres usefull when fishing snags for the xtra strength. I havent snapped an arma point as yet, but it's a confidence thing.

No, just chose 3 hooks at random from a single pack.
As I said earlier Joss the 1st 1 I tested could draw blood, #'s 2 + 3 were not very good at all.
That's why I was interested in other peoples findings as I have generally been reading some very positive things about them. I like the shape and can imagine for a barbless hook they will give good hook holds it just took me by surprise how blunt those 2 hooks were. Nothing I imagine a couple of strokes with a file wouldn't sort out.
Interested to hear others findings.
Can't seam to get them in barbless around these parts anyway.

Old thread I know, but I was in a tackle shop today looking at barbless hooks.
They had the Osprey Sabre points but only in barbed. I took 3 random size 8's from a packed to see how sharp they were and the 1st one I tested was evil in the sharpness dept. but the next 2 were terrible.
Didn't have time to investigate further, but was this just bad luck on my part as I've heard some very good reports on the in the past?
I also looked at the size 8 jrc MBT hooks which the random ones I tested were all needle sharp.

depends on the marketting budget - kamasan B175's are fantastic hooks but waaaaaay to cheap to catch a carp lol! all the trout anglers moan that we've driven the price of them up!
i use them.....bloody sharp devils.......
dont rate arma's though........thought they were all blunt compared to other hooks....... :thumbsup_anim:
