Just back fromm 11th July trip on the Bay. Bailiffs for the week were Dave and Hogg who were very good with advise to everyone when it was required and the food was superb. So a big thumbs up to you 2 boys.

Back to the trip. Coach arrived at 11.45pm gear quickly loaded and we were on our way. No dramas on the way and we pull into LQ at 8.15am. There were 17 anglers on the main lakes and 4 on the Bay. Having walked round with the lad and our new chums Ray and Alan we both wanted the same double swim being the Hangers right and left. It was left to a spin of the coin and well done little Willie cos we bagged the Hanger swims. Ray and Alan went into the other double swim called Moonshine.

Starting off on Poachers PRB all fished on the bottom and meshed we were into fish straight away and the first 3 fish on the bank were all 20's and we had not been fishing for 2 hours. The action continued throughout the week in this fashion and all the baits we used were successful being Poachers PRB and RnR and both the house baits Squid and Liver and the Cranberry. In total between me and little Willie got through 60 kg of bait. All these were fished meshed on the bottom with the other method used being 6 foot zigs with a 10mm boilie pretty much resembling Winter Secret. These little jokers were left by the previous angler and proved very successful. (cheers whoever you are).

In total we had 158 fish which were broken down as follows.

8 30's, 25 20's, 34 between 15 & 20, 72 lower doubles and 19 singles.

The action was non stop which is exactly what I wanted for Will on his first trip abroad and much to my delight he really enjoyed his trip and would come again. We had some good characters on the trip which made for a good laugh.

I must mention that we never fished during the night at all reeling in at 10 o clock just as the mozzies came out to play and Will never fished before breakfast as he always slept in (lazy little tosser).

Ray and Alan in Moonshine had 8 20's and 1 30 between them.

As for the rest of the complex, the total for the week was 251 fish. Point Left on the Long had around 23 fish, Sexys 13, Shed 15 and 1st Hanger about 11. Jurrassic did 10 I think and LOST 9. Point Right on the long did nothing upto Wednesday evening and the angler moved to 2 nd Hanger and had 4 fish after that. Once he had moved though 1 st Hanger dried up. MOTL produced the only 50 of the week and had about 9 fish in total. Everybody on the trip caught and obviously some had a harder time than others. The main lakes were slower this week but the weather was all over the place with 3 cloudy muggy days then 3 right scorches. Thunder storms hit us on 2 nights.

Personally me and little Willie had a blinding week and I can't wait for my next go at the main lakes on 12th Sept.
