Question for you Foxy, How much all in for the week?

Ferry, petrol,bait food, booking etc,

Be interesting how it compares.

Be honest though Foxy.

cheers for all the comments guys

ok when we booked we got the whole lake booking for 2 grand. it has now gone up to 2500 though. with 8 it cost 250 each. im not 100% how much it is if you book independantly we took 4 cars for comfort but could have got away with a van and less. my ferry cost 60 quid as booked in advance. so 30 quid each.

tolls were about 25-30 euros each way. fuel cost as much as it cost to go 240 odd miles in france from calais (im 90% sure on this, was about this number)

bait. i used 15k of boilies. if you really get on themyou will use more. we bought our bait at 8.50 a kilo through mick bowman. however they do charge 10.50 out there which is a bit much for my liking. thier bait did outfish all other tho.

food, it is drive and survive. so again whatever you want to cook really. most pegs have BBQs in them so we just went to the supermarket and bought a load of stuff. also beer is cheap and great as you have a fridge behind your peg! :)

we also hired a baitboat which cost us 70 qui (again split 2 ways) not essential at all as to be honest they were more of a laugh and spent a lot of time ferrying food and beer back and forth!

so basically, was one of the cheaper trips ive been on.

ok some more random pictures!!

My mate took a picture through an aquascope. This was in about 8 feet of water, his rig is in there somewhere

Being shown how its done by Mick the baliff

and the most random of all. It was 3am and my mate got a screamer. But it didnt feel right. Basically, there are a LOT of frogs in the edges of all pegs. A tawny owl went down grabbed one and manged to go through his line!! Was a mental thing to have happened. Anyway he got it in and managed to untangle the little fella. Who flew off happily :thumbsup_anim:

cheers flatty :thumbsup_anim:

i have a load more at home of some of the other smaller fish but they are all stunners. the 61 that dan had was a mid 50 last year and has a fair few other 60lb+ fish. they certainly packing on the weight in there. The stockies that were low 30 went in last year we caught up to 39lb. i think the record is 71 at the moment. very well run lake. Only thing it lacks is running drinking water (the showers are from tanks).

No possion chat
no catfish
they remove everythign under 28 (unless v pretty fish)

cant wait to go back. :thumb:

Ok I have been gone and come back again! I have already booked up for 2013. i loved it. Not easy but when you got one it was going to be a decent fish 9 times out of ten. My mate had a 40, 55 mirror and 54 common in 8 hours!!

This place is cracking. Very nice looking lake. If you want to go and if you can, book the whole lake. I can see some swims getting in the way of others. 8 of us went, 7 caught. We had 32 fish for the week but one of our party did blank. He did nothing wrong, just unlucky. The top rod was 13 fish. Biggest landed was 61-8. Then fish of 59,55,54,50,49,48 etc etc. the smallest was 28lb and were 3 20's caught all week.

you do get blanks here but listen to the bailiff and you will get takes normally. he is onsite 24/7 but didnt fish when we were there.

Ok i had 6 takes and 5 fish for the week. 34-39lb. I had the smallest fish (apart from one of our party who blanked) where everyone else who caught had a 40.

all but 3 pegs are cut in pairs, plenty of room and you share a cabin between 2 of you. The single pegs also have a cabin each. All but 2 (this will be sorted) have fridge freezers and electrical points in.

each peg has a boat in. take an outboard if you can get hold of one. they cut the weed each year now but some swims still quite weedy. Use the boat and find the holes in the weed and you catch. it is clear and you can see the clear patches in the shallower water even upto about 10 feet. you need to use a lead dumping system though and it makes it a lot easier to get them in, (the mcf ones are superb for this) The one fish i lost the lead failed to dump as got tangled!

i also took a bait boat which came in handy if you had a take at night and didnt fancy goign back in the boat again.

This is one of the venues where i would definately take thier boilies again. Outfished all other baits. (Hartford mix).

There are showers here but no running drinking water. But there is a garage 5 mins form the road where you fill up water butts. Also the supermarket is 10 mins away and stocks everything.

This place will always be on any list of mine to go to again. i rated it that highly

Ive also got hold of the Warwick DVD and must admit the place looks the bollox and has some big lumps in there!

time will tell how good it is. was quite reasonanble too. 2k to hire the whole lake. 14 pegs. will be 8 on our trip making 250 a head.
