The house and services are now complete and the fishing is looking promising to say the least!
He has just had a couple of friends stay for a few days, Simon and Darren are bikers and wanted to use John's site to pitch their tents whilst they toured the region. Simon has never fished and Darren is a self confessed "maggott basher"
Well their plans went awry and no touring occurred as they never left the site.
They were stunned at the beauty of the surroundings and decided just to sit and chill with the odd glass or three of wine and sleep in the lodge.
Surprisingly(lol) John got involved in the chilling process and offered to throw out a couple of rods for them to share takes which they did for two afternoon sessions with the following results:-
16 fish in total.
2 Doubles
8 @25+
6 @ 30+ up to 38.5
Not bad for twelve hours fishing with 2 rods!
So Simon left with a new pb Mirror of 38.5 and Darren with a pb Common of 30lb and ounces.
After the guys left one of John's neighbours came down with their 6 year old son to fish the small lake and were well chuffed when he caught a 6lb common on float gear. They were even happier when the ledger rod roared off and he landed a 27lb mirror!
Can't wait to get back over there later this year with the family. :thumbsup_anim:

He added some more fish recently and decided to see if they had settled in, so at the end of a hard days graft he stuck a couple of rods out for half an hour and landed four fish to high thirties.
He tells me all the fish looked to be thriving on the feeding programme he has started.
The house is just about complete now and looking very nice, the last of the works to the lake and water supply are due to start in the next week or two so all is on track for the arrival of the first guests. :thumbsup_anim:

the fish caught were all in stunning condition. :thumbsup_anim: tryed to upload a photo of the 32.5 common but file to big? lodge taking shape with all shower room bits delivered and fitting next week.
carp pellet orderedand feeding plan sorted.interesting thing on the fishing front was that all fish came from the shallower area at far end of lake?not from tree line which looks cock on for takes all day long!back out on wednesday so will keep you lot updated with further progress reports.

In between breaking his back , getting the place ready for the first visitors, he has been managing to put a few carp to low 30's on the bank from both lakes.
Looks like the new residents are settling in and starting to get hungry.
Watch this space! :thumbsup_anim:
