bigjon with his 43 pb common, he couldn't keep 3 rods out on the saturday afternoon..
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c102/Jossf/43left.jpg

Jon and Paul, Paul frightened the life out of me and jon, he was in the beach and the first afternoon, he had a fookin grt big knife and was sharpen sticks  ..he slept in a coffin :thumbsup_anim: ..top bloke, glad he had his pb twice on the poacher gear once i sorted out his rigs and bait out...he was blanking like a proper cooornt on another bait and crappy rigs, i really felt sorry for him...he kept walking up to watch us land fish...so i shared a bit of my experience....and my bait...he eneded up with about 18 fish....4 x 40's to 48lb....well happy for him.

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c102/Jossf/UncleFester.jpg

A few of my little sweets that helped me on the way...mainly RnR and a bit of Tiger n Maple
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c102/Jossf/Personalpics042.jpg

i snapped a branch off when i filled a sack with bait, and landed in the water.. :LMAO:

oh yeeeeees, that 49.8 gave me a bit of trouble, and those waders dont half come in handy on point left.. as there is a sand bar..you can see it easily, and you can wade out 15 yrds, and the fish really dont like being pulled over it...so i go in for them...makes life easier...

get in yam big bostard........

i love both right and left point swims..ya just gotta know how and where to fish them...hope this helps

well not a bad week for the slag again :LMAO:

decided to fish the point left with jon, wasn't my first choice really, cause i really wanted the elf, but we wanted to fish together, so the points seemed a good choice, especially as the wind was blowing straight into the big willow.

armed with 140kgs between us..rnr and tiger n maple...in mainly 16mm and 40kg of 6m's we were well prepared...

From the off jon battered them, 7 runs on the saturday afternoon, includint a 43 common, his PB common

i had just the one 22 on my right rod, place on the second set of reeds, left of the large willow. simply just cast out and sticked out aload of bait all over the far margin, i couldnt really be bothered on the first day, you know how ya feel after all the traveling

Middle rod was placed on the large tree, just to my left, you cant miss it, it has a branch that has fell down over the yrs, left rod on the plateau slightly towards the hog about 50 yrds @ 10 oclock...

After dinner i baited both our swims up...15kg of bait and after a half decent nights kip and my right rod was off at 6am.....not a bad start..ummm they are likin the Rnr ....for a change...
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c102/Jossf/48-1.jpg

Sunday, Jon still couldnt keep more than 2 rods out at anyone time till 12am, then the runs just stopped.

8.30am, the right rod was off again, 39.4...ummmm, the are liking the tiger n maple this time then

Monday, the lake was flat calm and the sun was out...dont like the look of that, i thought...no sign of life anywhere up thi send of the lake...

The wind switched on the tuesday and was hammering down the other end, bad news, i knew the fish would move on a new wind, and they did, big style, and from then on, it was hard work, but we never stopped baiting, walking round four times a day, crushing baits up, and adding some of my new dips, by the gallon :thumbsup_anim: ....it worked....and those 6mms came in well handy...

On the wednesday, i was up a tree to the left of me, and spotted the weed moving around, but couldn't see any fish, so i started baiting the weed bed up, but noticed most of the baits just lay on top of it, so...fill 2 dozen PVA bags up and chuck'd them in the middle of it...kept doing that for a day, i was luck to get hold of a fair few A4 sized PVA bags, and on the evening, tied four more bags up, tied them to my lead, got Jon to hold me rod, whilst i threw it (it was too heavy to cast) in the middle of the weed.....hr later, it was off.......steady pressure through the weed and the huge flank of a common, laid on top of the weed...."Ya be getting ya feet wet now fella"..i said to jon...no need she came nice and steady...second time ive caught this fish...both times over fifty...i'm thinking she has got a thing for me...or my bait...lol

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c102/Jossf/50lb4oz.jpg

went for dinner, came back, done the same thing...and it was of again...49.8..and then my left rod went off after sorting out the 43 ugliest coornt ive ever caught...not a bad day at the office.

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c102/Jossf/Personalpics104.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c102/Jossf/Personalpics094.jpg

finished up with 22, 23, 23, 26, 48.12, 20, 25.4, 39.4, 14, 50.4, 49.8, 43, 21.8 and only lost 1 fish.

it wasnt easy, and the weather was against us.....although i didnt have loads of fish that wk...the stamp of fish i caught, was exceptional........

Good review mate,Ian who fished it beside me this year fished same rhr and lhr but roved middle,I fished same as you last year and found that snag in the tree too often for my liking though my bigger fosh did not come from there,i found rhr produced more biggies.
I actually prefer Point Left to Point Right now i have fished them both, deffo more scope.
Though it fished crap for me this year but Point left did too and he was a good angler.

Pretty much exactly where I put me baits when i foshed it fella. Found that plateu to the left and baited it heavily but only foshed it at nite and took a few from it. Never thought of foshing that weed bed though to be honest although fosh kept kiting left from far bank and had to pull a few through it which was hairy sometimes

back to the swim....i love it, fished on it and or with guy quite a few times, and done very well....the options you have are almost too many...and if you fish it between point right, ya quids in...

right rod, you could always go to the big willow on the long cast, or personally i find it better if you come back towards the left on the second set of reeds, the is a little hole approx 10ft in front of those reeds, its not that big, but its what the carp have dug out.

middle rod..tree straight in front of you, there is an alcove in the tree, but becarefull, go a ft left and there is a branch approx 6ft down, you wont know your on it untill you reel in...or...check the height of your line lay in the water.

left rod...well...where do you start.. :thumbsup_anim: ...the plateux towards the hog about 35-40yrds to your left, it raises up some 3ft from the surrounding lake bed, its very hard, but you'll need 2 markers to find the size of it. Then you have the left margin..weed = carp. If there's no one in the hog, cast to the very far corner  ...the shallow plateux striaght in front of you...fish the drop off towards your left, carp defo come round the corner from the right as they move round to the hog..

its not an easy swim to fish, as the amount of walking round to bait up correctly, so it will keep ya fit, but take it in turns with point right..

well thats how i fish it

Big fish Guy and i have had from there, not counting the 30's:

41.6, 42, 43, 45, 48.12, 49.8, 50.4, 50.6, 51.2, 57.12..guy might add a few more to the list

second set of reeds to the left from the large willow in point right, tree slightly left in front of you, and the left rod, find the plateaux....or the weed bed on your left...5kg of bait per rod morning and evening, stick out every hr on the hr with 100 baits
